Griemeringhausen is a district of Marienheide in North Rhine-Westphalia and consists of the two parts "Alt Griemeringhausen" and "Neu Griemeringhausen."
Location and description
The place is about 1.2 km east of the Marienheide community center and is now seamlessly connected to the community center.
Large areas were built on in Neu-Griemeringhausen in the 1950s. In the early 1990s, many Russian mennonites settled.
The village is bordered on the southern edge by the Wipper, better known as the later Wupper . The Griemeringhausen industrial park adjoins it in the northeast . From 1964 to 1988 the missile position of the anti-aircraft missile battalion 22 of the Bundeswehr with several missiles of the type "Nike" was located on this site.
Hiking and biking trails
Three supraregional hiking trails lead through Griemeringhausen : The road of work , the Wupperweg and the Talsperrenweg X3 , plus the two pilgrimage routes of Heidenstraße (Leipzig-Cologne) and the Jakobsweg . The water quintet cycle route runs along the eastern edge , a project as part of the Regionale 2010 .
