Kenneth Hansen (born September 29, 1960 ), lives in Kinne-Vedum , is a Swedish car athlete and 14-time FIA European Rallycross Champion. Hansen has been driving a factory-supported Citroën C4 rallycross race since May 2006 , having previously competed in national and international RX competitions with a Citroën Xsara for eight years .

Motorsport

The Swede Kenneth Hansen is the most successful rallycross driver in motorsport history to date . From 1989 to 2008 inclusive, he collected 14 European championship titles on Ford and Citroën vehicles . In 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2006 and 2007 Hansen could “only” become vice European champion. In addition, between 1986 and 2002 he won a total of 10 Swedish rallycross championship titles. Because of this unprecedented track record, at least for rallycross, Hansen is now nicknamed “His Kennyness” after his long-time arch rival, the Norwegian Martin Schanche, was given the honorary title “Mister Rallycross” in the early 1980s.

Kenny Hansen began his racing career in 1976 with karting , switched to Folkrace (a Swedish rallycross discipline for drivers on a budget) in 1981 and finally ended up in rallycross in 1983. Here he gained his first experience with Volvo cars ; In 1987 he made his debut in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for drivers with a Volvo 240 Turbo , whose most important protagonist he is now.

family

Hansen has been married to Susann Hansen (née Bergvall) since the mid-1990s and their two sons are named Timmy and Kevin. While Susann ended her career soon after winning the ERA 1400 Cup in 1994 (a rallycross European championship series for young drivers that was not yet recognized by the FIA), Timmy is now a very promising formula racing talent after various successes in karting (Swedish kart champion 2008) matured. The Swede has been part of the German Mücke Motorsport team in the Formula BMW European series since 2009 . Kevin, on the other hand, is now internationally successful as a kart driver.
