Skövde is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län and the historic province of Västergötland . The main town of the municipality is Skövde . Other localities are Igelstorp, Lerdala, Skultorp, Stöpen, Tidan , Timmersdala, Ulvåker, Väring, Värsås and a few smaller villages.

geography

The western part of the municipality is occupied by the Billingen mountain , at the eastern foot of which is the city of Skövde. This vast hill is the largest of the western Swedish table mountains in terms of area . To the east of the mountain there is an intensively used agricultural area. In the north of the municipality is the bird lake Östen .

There are also 26 different nature reserves in the municipality , most of them on Table Mountain Billingen or at its foot, such as B. Blängsmossen , Ryds ängar , Klasborgs och Våmbs ängar and Silverfallet .
