Circle changeup

Circular handle of a circle changeup

The circle changeup is a throwing technique used by a pitcher in baseball . The same throwing motion is carried out as with a straight fastball , but the ball is encompassed with all fingers in the shape of a circle. This deliberately slows down the throw and induces the opposing batsman to hit too early ( change-up ).

Since the circle changeup is grasped with all five fingers, the throw can be given a multitude of different variations using slightly different grasping and pressure techniques. He is u. a. one of the favorite throws of three-time Cy Young Award winner Pedro Martinez .
