The slurve ( suitcase word from slider and curveball ) is a throwing technique of a pitcher in baseball . Here is ball thrown with the throwing motion of a curve ball, the ball kept deliberately decentralized as the slider. This results in a double spin .

One of the most famous slurve pitchers was longtime Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood , who once managed 20 strikeouts in a nine-inning game.
