Clà Riatsch

Clà Riatsch (born April 11, 1956 in Ramosch ) is a Swiss Romanist .

Live and act

Clà Riatsch attended schools in Ramosch and Chur. From 1976 to 1983 he studied Italian literature, Romance philology and ancient history at the University of Bern . In 1986 he received his doctorate on Carlo Emilio Gadda . From 1987–1991 he worked for the National Fund project “Literature and Small Language” under the direction of Iso Camartin . This resulted in his study Literature and Small Language on the Romansh literature since 1860.

Riatsch held teaching positions at the University of Bern , the ETH Zurich and the universities of Neuchâtel and Freiburg. In 1997 he completed his habilitation. Since 2001 he has been professor of Romansh linguistics and literature at the University of Zurich and at the same time visiting professor at the University of Freiburg im Üechtland. He is also a member of the jury for the Swiss Literature Prize .

In 2016 he received the RTR.G award for his commitment to the Romansh language and literature.
