Clémence de Grandval
Clémence de Grandval , born as Marie Félicie Clémence de Reise , also known as Madame de Grandval and Vicomtesse de Grandval (born January 21, 1830 in Saint-Rémy-des-Monts , † January 15, 1907 in Paris ) was a French composer.
Marie de Grandval was born in 1830 at Château de la Cour du Bois near the village of Saint-Rémy-des-Monts ( Sarthe department ). Marie de Grandval was a student of Friedrich von Flotow and Camille Saint-Saëns . From 1860 to 1892 she wrote seven mostly one-act operas under various pseudonyms. She also wrote Esquizes Symphoniques , an oratorio, cantatas, songs, choirs and chamber music.
