Clément Michelin (born May 11, 1997 in Montauban ) is a French football player . He is a trained right back and is under contract with RC Lens . He was also a young national player in his native country.

Career

society

Clément Michelin was born in Montauban in the south of France and started playing football in Verdun-sur-Garonne , 15 miles south of his hometown, when he joined AS Savenes Verdun. He later joined Coquelicots Montechois, about 15 kilometers from his previous place of work, before moving to the football school of Toulouse FC from Toulouse , 54 kilometers away . After Michelin had outgrown the youth teams, he made his debut on September 20, 2016 at the age of 19 in a 2-1 away win against OSC Lille in Ligue 1 , the top French division. This season, Toulouse FC was close to the European Cup, but they quickly found themselves in the middle of the table and ended the season in 11th place in the table. Clément Michelin, who came to eight league games this season, missed most of the season due to a knee injury. A season later, FC Toulouse fought relegation and finished 18th in the table at the end of the season, whereby the southern French landed in the barrage games against third in Ligue 2 , the second highest French division. With a 3-0 away win in the first leg and a 1-0 win in the second leg in their own stadium against AC Ajaccio , FC Toulouse managed to stay in the league. Michelin had only got ten games across all competitions. After the start of the season he was awarded to the relegation opponent from Ajaccio - despite a bruised foot. Due to an injury, Clément Michelin only played 14 point games in the French second division in Corsica . After the loan ended, he did not return to Toulouse, but instead joined the RC Lens , also playing in Ligue 2. Here Michelin made the breakthrough and in 25 games, in which he was mostly in the starting lineup, he scored a goal. The Corona crisis made it necessary to end the season, but RC Lens rose to Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

National team

From 2013 to 2014, Clément Michelin played six times for the French U17 national team , with whom he missed participation in the 2017 U17 European Championship . One calendar year later, in 2015, he played two games for the national team of players under 18 years of age before Michelin made his debut for the French U19 team in 2016 and took part with them at the 2016 U19 European Championship in Germany . From a French point of view, this tournament ended with the title win and Clément Michelin made four appearances. He ran ten times for the U19 juniors. The right-back, who was born in Montauban, played for the French U20 national team from 2016 to 2018 and made nine appearances.
