Clapp Ridge is a narrow ridge in the Victory Mountains in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It extends over a length of 14 km and forms the north face of the Hand Glacier .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the American glaciologist James L. Clapp (1933-2007), who was part of the United States Antarctic Research Program from 1967 to 1958 was involved in the exploration of Roosevelt Island .
