Clarke Quay (CQ) is a walled embankment - also called the quay - on the Singapore River in central Singapore . Today CQ is known for its many bars, restaurants and clubs that are spread around the port.

history

Clarke Quay was named after Sir Andrew Clarke , Singapore's second governor, who played an important key role in positioning Singapore as a port for the Malay states of Perak , Selangor and Sungei Ujong .

Today, Clarke Quay is a five-block restored warehousing harbor with many restaurants and nightclubs . The different blocks are assigned to different cultural areas that offer local and popular dishes from Indian and Chinese dances to various cocktail and beer bars.
