Robert N. Bradbury
Robert North Bradbury (born March 23, 1886 in Walla Walla , Washington , † November 24, 1949 in Glendale , California ), actually Ronald Bradbury , was an American film director , screenwriter and film producer who directed a total of 125 feature films between 1918 and 1941 .
Life
Bradbury roamed around with a vaudeville show until the late 1910s before the family settled in Hollywood . He began his film career in 1916 when his first screenplay was filmed as a silent film under the title Along the Malibu . Two years later, he first directed the western The Wooing of Riley . During the silent film era, he directed a large number of films and often contributed to the script. In 1920 he shot the adventure film The Adventures of Bob and Bill with his sons Bill Bradbury and Bob Steele , which was followed by 13 other films with the same cast. Between 1933 and 1935 he made 13 films with young John Wayne , who was once a classmate of his son at Glendale High School. A frequent film editor here was Carl Pierson .
