Carl Pierson

Carl Pierson (born June 26, 1891 in Indianapolis , Indiana , † February 11, 1977 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor and film director .

Life

Pierson began appearing as a film editor in the late 1920s. By the mid-1960s, he was involved in more than 200 productions in the field of film editing . Many of the films, especially those in the 1930s and 1940s, were westerns (cheaply produced) . In the 1950s he worked occasionally for television.

In the 1930s he worked on a number of films with the young John Wayne in the lead role. It was often directed by Robert N. Bradbury . In 1935 Pierson made his directorial debut and staged fire water and fresh flowers , also a western. John Wayne also starred here. In the same year, Flammende Grenz was made , followed by The Singing Vagabond , his last production as a director.
