Claude-Odon Reure

Claude-Odon Reure (born December 13, 1848 in Saint-Martin-d'Estréaux , Département Loire , † 1923 ) was a French Latinist, Romance studies and literary scholar.

Life

The Abbé (later Chanoine) Reure completed his theology studies in Lyon in 1874 and became a teacher at the École des Chartreux in Lyon's La Croix-Rousse district. In 1890 he received his doctorate at the University of Aix-en-Provence with the two dissertations Les Gens de lettres et leurs protecteurs à Rome (Paris 1891) and De Scriptorum ac litteratorum hominum cum romanis imperatoribus inimicitiis (Paris 1891) and became professor of Latin literature at the Catholic University of Lyon .

Reure was Hugues Vaganay's teacher .
