Claude Ake
Claude Ake (born February 18, 1939 in Omuku , † November 7, 1996 in a plane crash between Port Harcourt and Lagos ) was a Nigerian political scientist .
Ake became a professor at Carleton University in Ottawa in 1969 and then at the universities of Dar es Salaam and Port Harcourt . In 1986 he was elected President of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). In 1991 he founded the Center for Advanced Social Science (CASS), a think tank that deals critically with economic development.
In his book Social science as imperialism he deals critically with the coloniality of knowledge.
