Claude Bouhier de Lantenay (born October 19, 1681 in Dijon , † June 21, 1755 ibid) was a French bishop .

Life

Claude Bouhier was the son of Bénigne Bouhier, judicial officer ( Président à mortier ) in the Parlement of Dijon. His mother was Claire de la Toison. His brother Jean Bouhier - not to be confused with his eponymous predecessor in the episcopate, his uncle - became a member of the Académie française in 1727 .

Claude Bouhier was abbot of Fontaine-Daniel, prior of Pontailler and vicar general of the Diocese of Langres . He was also provost of Saint-Etienne in Dijon, where he also lived. Appointed second bishop of Dijon by a deed of December 8, 1723, he took possession of the diocese by procurationem on May 8, and was consecrated on March 26, 1744.

Bishop Bouhier issued new diocesan statutes. He died in Dijon in 1755. His heart was buried in the bishop's crypt in Dijon Cathedral.
