Claude Buffier
Claude Buffier , called Pater Buffier (French Père Buffier , born May 25, 1661 , † May 17, 1737 in Paris ) was a French philosopher , historian and Jesuit born in Poland into a French family .
Under the title Cours de sciences sur des principes nouveaux et simples (1732, in-folio) he combined: a Grammaire française , the Traités d'Eloquence et de Poésie , a Traité des premières vérités , the Principes du raisonnement , Eléments de Métaphysique and a Discours sur l'étude et la méthode des sciences . The Pratique de la mémoire artificielle (1701) also comes from him . He worked for a long time on the editing of the Journal de Trévoux and the Dictionnaire de Trévoux . The most valued of his works is the Traité des premières vérités .
