Claude Hugot

Claude Léon André Hugot (born February 16, 1929 in Villiers-sur-Marne , † October 7, 1978 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French chess player .

Hugot was one of the strongest French chess players in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He won the French championship in 1949 and took part with the French team at the 1950 Chess Olympiad in Dubrovnik . Claude Hugot was a member of the Paris club Caïssa , with which he won the French team cup Coupe de France in 1949 . 1959 Hugot ended his chess career due to disputes with the French Chess Federation during the French individual championship.
