Villiers-sur-Marne is a French commune with 28,456 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Val-de-Marne in the region Ile-de-France ; it is located in the arrondissement of Nogent-sur-Marne and is the administrative seat ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Villiers-sur-Marne . Villiers-sur-Marne belongs to the Ville nouvelle Marne-la-Vallée . The inhabitants are called Villiérains .
geography
Villiers-sur-Marne is located in the Paris basin between Noisy-le-Grand in the north and east, Le Plessis-Trévise in the south-east, Champigny-sur-Marne in the south-west and Bry-sur-Marne in the north-west. Despite the name, the place is not on the Marne , but about one and a half kilometers away. It is the easternmost municipality in the so-called ville nouvelle Marne-la-Vallée and is in the 1st sector ( Porte de Paris ) of this.
