Claude de Vin des Œillets , known as Mademoiselle des Œillets , (* 1637 in Provence , † 18 May 1687 in Paris ) was a mistress of the French King Louis XIV and Jean-Baptiste Colbert .

Life

Claude was the daughter of Nicholas de Vin and his wife Louise Faviot. She came into the household of Madame de Montespan as a lady- in- waiting and was introduced to the court. She was also involved in the poison affair surrounding Catherine Monvoisin through her mistress . The later liaison with the king was not hidden from Madame de Montespan and she removed the lady-in-waiting from her service.

In addition to the king, she was also the mistress of the navy and finance minister Jean-Baptiste Colbert . Claude de Vin des Œillets later lived in the “Hôtel particulier de la rue Montmartre”, where she lived a life of luxury. She also owned the Château de Suisnes in Grisy-Suisnes , which she used as a country house. A daughter emerged from his relationship with the Sun King, but she did not recognize her: Louise de Maisonblanche (1676–1718).
