Claudia Bosse (* 1969 in Salzgitter-Bad ) is a German director , artist and choreographer .

Life

Claudia Bosse studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . This was followed by productions and theatrical installations, interventions in public space in Berlin, Beirut, Cairo, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Prague, Hamburg, Krems, Jerusalem, Geneva, Vienna, New York, Tunis, Podgorica ( Montenegro ), Graz and Jakarta. She received teaching assignments and published publications on her directorial work and installation projects.

In 1996 she was co-founder of the theatercombinat and its artistic director. From 2006 to 2008, Bosse worked as a permanent guest director at the Théâtre du Grütli in Geneva. There she staged z. B. Phèdre (Racine / Seneca). As part of the “Theaterformen” festival, Bosse staged the ancient tragedy The Persians of Aeschylus in Braunschweig. At the center of this production, Bosse placed the choir , which she formed from 500 citizens of Braunschweig and the surrounding area. In 2009 the production of “2481 desaster zone” followed, a hybrid of four tragedies with the world premiere in Vienna. Since 2010 she has been developing a series of political hybrids with the works “vampires of the 21st century oder was also do?” (2010/11) in Düsseldorf, Vienna and New York as well as “dominant powers. so what to do? ”(2011/12) in Vienna and Tunis.

In the process of “(Catastrophes 11/15) Ideal Paradise”, the works move from the Weltmuseum Wien “the second step to Ideal Paradise”, from the museum to the urban space “Urban Laboratory Ideal Paradise”, into the theater space of the dance quarter “Ideal Paradise” Clash ”and back to the city“ Ideal Paradise ”. The material from this multi-year work process was linked to “the last Ideal Paradise” in Düsseldorf (2016) in Essen as part of the German dance platform (2018) and in Jakarta, Indonesia (2020).

Since 2011, Bosse has been working increasingly in the field of art, for example with “Explosion of Silence” for the Prague Quadriennale 2011 and “the space, the space, the image, the image, the bed, the tree and the exposure of the body” for the Leopold Museum , Vienna.
