Claudia Comte

Claudia Comte (* 1983 in Grancy ) is a Swiss visual artist from the canton of Vaud .

Career

Claudia Comte studied from 2004 to 2007 at the Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL) from 2004 to 2007. In 2010 she received a Master of Art in Science of Education from the Haute Ecole de Pédagogique , Visual Arts, in Lausanne .

Claudia Comte mainly works with wood and graphic patterns. She produced a “considerably differentiated, much noticed oeuvre ”. Exhibitions took place in the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 2017 the first overview exhibition took place at the Kunstmuseum Luzern under the title “10 Rooms, 40 Walls, 1059 m²”. For Claudia Comte's work, handicraft is central: the artist saws, grinds, mills, polishes.
