Claudio Bravo (painter)

Claudio Bravo Camus (born November 8, 1936 in Valparaíso , † June 4, 2011 in Taroudannt , Morocco ) was a contemporary Chilean painter who portrayed still lifes and portraits in his pictures with photorealistic accuracy .

Life

From 1945 Claudio Bravo studied painting in Spain, after which he worked with well-known painters.

In 1972 he was a participant in Documenta 5 in Kassel in the Realism department .

Due to the precise technical execution of his pictures, drawings and pastels, Bravo is one of the representatives of hyperrealism . Some of Bravo's pictures are extremely precise and can hardly be distinguished from photos.
