Claudio Casciolini
Claudio Casciolini (born November 9, 1697 in Rome , † January 18, 1760 there ) was an Italian composer .
His compositions include a three-part requiem , the eight-part Zacchee festinans descende and a Missa brevissima . From April 1726 until his death he sang as bass in the church of San Lorenzo in Damaso , where he was possibly also "maestro di cappella".
He is considered a typical representative of Roman polyphony in the tradition of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina . He created exclusively sacred works, most of them are purely vocal .
