Claudio Fragasso

Claudio Fragasso (born October 2, 1951 in Rome ) is an Italian director and screenwriter .

Life

Fragasso began in 1973 as a screenwriter for purely commercial films, almost exclusively for Mario Bianchi and Bruno Mattei , for whose cheaply produced, quickly wound down genre reproductions he was also hired as an assistant director . As a director of Super 8 films, he already had his own productions when he presented his first horror films in the Matteis style in the 1980s, which were produced for the foreign and video market.

In the 1990s he developed into a director of crime films with social subtopics, such as racism in Teste rasate , which led to further work for television, for which he often implemented intricate stories with excellent technical skills.

Fragasso shot or scripted several of his films under the pseudonym Clyde Anderson ; in some he played minor roles. He is married to the screenwriter Rossella Drudi .
