Claudio Gabriele de Launay
Claudio Gabriele de Launay (* 1786 - February 21, 1850 ) was general and prime minister of the Kingdom of Sardinia .
De Launay came from a noble Savoy family. He became major general in 1835 and was promoted to lieutenant general in 1843 . That year he was also appointed Viceroy of Sardinia . In December 1848 he was appointed to the Senate .
After the defeat at Novara , he formed a cabinet in which he presided over as President of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from March 27 to May 7, 1849 . Seriously hostile as a reactionary, he soon gave way to Massimo d'Azeglio .
De Launay died on February 21, 1850. Claudio Gabriele de Launay was the father of the Italian ambassador Edoardo de Launay (1820-1892).
