Claudio Holenstein (born September 10, 1990 in Wil SG ) is a Swiss football player who has been under contract with SC Brühl St. Gallen in the Promotion League since summer 2017 .
Career
Claudio Holenstein spent his youth at FC Wil . In the summer of 2008 he made it into the first team of FC Wil in the Challenge League . In the summer of 2009, he was loaned out to former league rivals FC Gossau for a year . After his return in summer 2010, he became a regular player and played over 100 championship games for FC Wil by the end of the 2014 season.
In summer 2014 he moved to FC Luzern in the Super League , where he signed a contract until the end of June 2017. He made his debut on July 20, 2014 in the home game against FC Sion .
From January 2015 to June 2015, Holenstein was loaned to FC Wohlen in the Challenge League. On July 7, 2015, FC Luzern loaned him to FC Winterthur in the Challenge League for another year until the end of June 2016 .
For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Austrian second division club FC Wacker Innsbruck , where he received a contract valid until June 2017.
In July 2017 he returned to Switzerland, where he joined the third division club SC Brühl St. Gallen .
