Claudio Marcelo Morena Bertolino (born December 19, 1969 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player who played in the attacking midfield and in the assault row .
career
Morena began his professional career in 1988 with his hometown club Racing Club de Montevideo , with whom he won the second division championship in 1989 and rose to the top division . There the team finished in a respectable fifth place in 1990 and failed very narrowly in the qualifying games for the Copa Libertadores in 1991 , when they lost in the decisive game against Club Atlético Bella Vista on penalties .
In 1992 Morena moved to Mexico , where he was under contract with UAG Tecos from 1992 to 1995 . In his first season in 1992/93, Morena scored 11 goals for his new club, 4 of them from a penalty . In his second season in 1993/94 with the Tecos, he won - for the only time in their club history (!) - the Mexican football championship . Then Morena played for CF Pachuca , with whom he won the second division championship of the 1995/96 season, making his personal return to the top division. In the following 1996/97 season with the Tuzos, Morena experienced relegation for the first time when CF Pachuca had to return to the Primera División 'A' . There Morena did not appear after the end of his active career.
