Claudius Sieber-Lehmann

Claudius Sieber-Lehmann (born August 19, 1956 ) is a Swiss historian .

Life

Claudius Sieber studied classical philology, German and history at the University of Basel . In 1992 he received his doctorate there in history with the dissertation «Late medieval nationalism . The Burgundian Wars on the Upper Rhine and in the Confederation ». Since his habilitation in 2003 on the subject of “The Swiss Basel. A case study on the construction of manorial and political boundaries in the pre-modern era »at the University of Basel he works there as a private lecturer in general history of the Middle Ages and Swiss history.

He also held temporary teaching positions at the Universities of Lucerne and Zurich. Since 1995 he has also worked as a teacher (part-time) at the Liestal grammar school. His research focuses on the history of the High and Late Middle Ages with a focus on Swiss history .
