Claus-Dietrich Lahrs (born June 7, 1963 in Bielefeld ) is a German manager and was CEO of Hugo Boss AG until February 2016 .

Life

Claus-Dietrich Lahrs studied business administration and international management in Bochum , Cologne and Paris from 1984 to 1989 . He obtained a Master of Business Administration from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Paris . His professional career began in 1990 at Delton AG, which is part of the Quandt Group . From 1992 onwards he worked for the Cartier brand of the Swiss company Richemont , for which he worked until 1997. From 1995 to 1997 he was there as sales and marketing manager for the entire region of Northern Europe. He then moved to Bernard Arnault's French luxury group Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH). There he managed the Louis Vuitton brand , for which he managed the North American business in New York until 2004 . He then returned to Paris and took over the fashion branch of Christian Dior (Dior Couture) in Paris as managing director worldwide . On August 1, 2008 Lahrs was appointed CEO of Hugo Boss AG . His father is the former Thyssen board member Karl-Heinz Lahrs .

On February 25, 2016 Hugo Boss AG announced that Lahrs would leave the company by mutual agreement at the end of the month. From October 2016 to June 2019 he was CEO of the Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta . Lahrs was rumored to be the new managing director at S.Oliver from autumn 2019 , and he took up this position on November 4, 2019.
