Claus-Michael Hüssen

Claus-Michael Hüssen (* 1955 in Bottrop ) is a German provincial Roman archaeologist .

From 1976 to 1985 Hüssen studied Roman Provincial Archeology, Prehistory and Early History and Ancient History at the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in 1985 under Günter Ulbert . From 1984 to 1986 he worked as an archaeologist for the city of Weißenburg , then briefly at the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation, Nuremberg branch. Since 1986 he has been a scientific advisor to the Roman-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute (DAI), and since April 1, 1990 head of the DAI branch in Ingolstadt .

His focus is on research on the Limes in the north-west provinces and on economic structures in rural areas on the Danube and Limes.
