Clemens Michaelis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clemens Michaelis (* 1587 in Stettin ; † April 18, 1630 ibid) was the mayor of Stettin.

Clemens Michaelis was the son of the ducal land rent master of the same name in Pomerania . He received his doctorate in both rights and was the secret advice of the Dowager Duchess Sophie Hedwig in Loitz . He was also a lawyer at the royal court. From 1616 until the end of his life he was mayor of Szczecin.

He was not a district administrator , as stated by Gustav Kratz , among others , since the towns in the Pomeranian-Stettin part of the country were not allowed to appoint district administrators again until 1634, but was appointed to the Pomeranian War Council or State Council as "Consilii Status Assessor" in 1628.

His son Bogislaus Philipp Michaelis (1606–1656) was a royal Swedish councilor.
