Amandus Karl Vanselow

Amandus Karl Vanselow , also Amandus Carolus Vanselow (born August 27, 1699 in Dobberphul near Wollin , † July 5, 1771 in Plathe ) was a German mayor and non-fiction author. He published personal encyclopedias on the history of Pomerania .

Life

Nothing is known about Vanselow's origins. From 1729 to 1767 he was mayor of the town of Plathe in Pomerania and legal counsel for the offices of Naugard , Massow and Gülzow . No details have been handed down about his official activity.

In 1733 he married Margarethe Louise Ventzke, a pastor's daughter from Plathe. His son Wilhelm Karl Vanselow († 1801), who was an excise inspector in Plathe, survived him.

Vanselow published several personal encyclopedias on the history of Pomerania, which are still useful today:

  • News from the general superintendents, preposites, etc. from the Reformation to 1765 in Western Pomerania . Stargard 1766.
