Clemens Schwalbe

Clemens Schwalbe (born December 31, 1947 in Lützen , Weißenfels district ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from middle school (10th grade), Schwalbe trained as a chemical laboratory assistant . Then he was an engineer for chemical technology and a graduate engineer for process engineering. From 1971 to 1980 he was a development engineer in plastics research at the Buna-Werke and in application technology in the shoe machine construction department in Weißenfels . In 1980 he became head of the municipal heat supply and the municipal heating plants. In 1987 he was appointed head of investments in the health sector in the Weißenfels district.

In October 1986 Schwalbe became a member of the GDR CDU , where he was chairman of the Weißenfels district association from February 1990. From March 18 to October 2, 1990 he was a member of the first freely elected People's Chamber , where he was the parliamentary manager of the CDU / DA parliamentary group. From October 3, 1990 to 2002 he was then a member of the German Bundestag , where he was parliamentary manager of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group from 1990 to 1998. In 1990 and 1994 he represented the Merseburg - Querfurt - Weißenfels constituency as a directly elected member, and in 1998 he entered parliament via the state list.
