Clemens Stroppel

Clemens Stroppel (born June 17, 1959 in Tuttlingen ) is a German Roman Catholic clergyman , cathedral dean and vicar general .

Life

He grew up in a family with four siblings. After graduating from high school, he went to the Ambrosianum Seminary in Tübingen and then studied theology in Tübingen and Rome. In 1987 he was ordained a priest in Weingarten .

After that he was vicar in Stuttgart-Haslach for two years and then became a repetiteur at the Wilhelmsstift . Then in 1991 he became sub-rain at the seminary in Rottenburg . Between 1996 and 1999 he was released for doctoral studies. From 1998 to 2004 he was the rain of the seminar. In 2001 he was appointed chaplain to His Holiness by Pope John Paul II . Since January 1, 2005 he has been the Vicar General of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart . In the same year he was also cathedral capitular and appointed honorary prelate of His Holiness by the Pope . On July 8, 2015, Bishop Gebhard Fürst confirmed the election of Stroppel as dean of St. Martin's Cathedral in Rottenburg.
