Cleopatra (originally called Cleopatra Patera ) is an impact crater in the area of the Maxwell Montes massif on Venus with a diameter of 100 kilometers and a depth of 2.5 kilometers. A steep canal a few kilometers wide (Anuket Vallis) breaks through the impassable terrain around the crater rim. A large amount of lava flowed through this channel into the valleys of Fortuna Tessera. The crater is embedded in the structures of Maxwell Montes, which indicates that it is relatively young.
The crater is named after the Egyptian queen Cleopatra VII .
