history
The banking institution has its roots in the savings company Küttigen founded in 1834 and the Erlinsbach savings bank founded in 1837 . The basic idea of the two banks was the people's savings. Its members committed to initially paying a certain amount every two weeks. The two cooperative institutes later opened up to non-members.
In 2007, the savings company Küttigen , which was converted into a stock corporation in 2000, and the Erlinsbach savings bank, which is almost half the size of its balance sheet total, merged to form Clientis Bank Küttigen-Erlinsbach AG . In 2014 another branch was opened in Lostorf. To accommodate the additional branch, the name was changed to Clientis Bank Aareland in 2018 .
