Closer (German: "Closer") is a pop rock song that Robin Grubert and Martin Tingvall wrote for the German singer Mandy Capristo . The piece, which Robin Grubert and Martin Tingvall produced, was released on Capristo's debut album Grace in 2012 and released as a second single.
background
For the first time Capristo presented the song Closer on July 20, 2012 as a preliminary act by James Morrison in front of 3000 visitors. The song was also released on the EMI Best of Summer Hits Compilation on June 29th. The radio premiere took place on August 9th. On August 27th, Capristo released the acoustic version of Closer . She was accompanied by the pianist Nicolas Kozuschek and the cellist Cornelius Thiem. This is now the 4th acoustic release from their album Grace .
Capristo said of Closer : “The song should just convey that you are more happy about the things you have, that you reflect on them and that you don't take everything for granted. I also had the point in my life where all of my material desires were fulfilled and I was no happier. It clicked and I thought about what is really important to me. "
Video shoot
The video shoot took place on June 9, 2012; the video first aired on MyVideo on August 2nd . A total of four different scenes were shot. At the beginning the video takes place in a new apartment; Capristo and her friend (played by Thando Walbaum ) are setting it up. The second scene begins in a bar. Capristo is with her boyfriend again, wearing a long cocktail dress. Then the mood changes, as her boyfriend seems to be flirting with another woman and then leaves the room. When he comes back, Capristo runs out of the bar in a rage. A car races towards them. Her friend saves her by jumping in front of her. He is then taken to the hospital and is in a coma. Capristo visits him every day and leaves him messages of love on small sticky notes. The last shot ends with the sound of the casualty's pulse. It remains to be seen whether he will wake up. Capristo's fans could determine the end of the video. Your lover either stays in a coma or he wakes up again.
