The Clubbiedean Reservoir is a reservoir in Scotland .
geography
The approximately 440 m long and maximum 130 m wide lake is located in the south of the Council Area Edinburgh in front of the western flank of the Pentland Hills . The southern foothills of Edinburgh begin around 2.5 km to the north. To the east and southeast respectively, Capelaw Hill (454 m) and Harbor Hill (421 m) rise .
Various mountain streams feed the small reservoir. The main inflow here is the Clubbiedean Burn, which rises on the slopes of Harbor Hill . The outflow at the end of the earth wall on the east side flows around 200 m to the north into the adjacent Torduff Reservoir . The effluent from this lake Bonaly Burn united after a short distance by from the Bonaly reservoir outgoing Dean Burn .
history
Construction work to dam the Clubbiedean Burn was completed in 1850. Like the surrounding lakes, the reservoir serves as the water supply for Edinburgh. The operator is the water utility Scottish Water . The lake is stocked with trout and is suitable for fishing.
