Clutter is a free scene graph - program library , the software developer graphical user interfaces (GUIs) can create for applications via OpenGL rendered are.
Clutter was initially developed by OpenedHand. OpenedHand was later bought by Intel in order to create a surface for Moblin (today MeeGo Netbook ) based on Clutter . Meanwhile, a number of software projects, above all Gnome , use this toolkit.
Toolkits
Clutter in itself is not a GUI toolkit , but merely provides techniques such as transformations. In order to insert widgets , program developers either have to program them themselves or alternatively they can use an existing GUI toolkit together with Clutter. The Clutter project offers integrations for GTK + and Qt and is also developing its own toolkit called Mx .
Mx
Mx was originally written for Moblin under the name Nbtk and was only later expanded into a toolkit for general use. Mx offers all common widgets for creating graphical interfaces, but does not contain any functionality that goes beyond this. The Mozilla Application Framework can be used to embed web content, and GStreamer for multimedia content .
