Happy Town is an American mystery television series produced by ABC Studios in 2010 .

Seven years ago, a series of unsolved kidnapping cases rocked the fictional small town of Haplin, Minnesota . The series ended on its own, since then the residents have lived in peace and quiet, until today. A new series of crimes takes place, unearthing the dark secrets of the small town.

Although the series is set in Minnesota, many scenes have been filmed around Port Hope , Penetanguishene , and St. Catharines in Ontario , Canada . After the pilot was filmed, Ben Schnetzer replaced John Patrick Amedori in the role of Andrew Haplin and Steven Weber replaced Dean Winters in the role of John Haplin.
On May 11, 2010, ABC announced that Happy Town would be removed from the program for the next two weeks and will return on June 2, 2010. On May 17, 2010, ABC officially canceled the series. On June 18, 2010, ABC announced that the final two episodes would not air until later this summer. On July 1, 2010, abc.com published the last two episodes on their site.

After the first three episodes had aired, Happy Town disappeared from the program schedule for two weeks and returned on June 2, 2010. The last two episodes remained unaired, it was only released on July 1, 2010 on the series page at abc.com and iTunes .
