Sarah Gadon (born April 4, 1987 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress .

life and career

Her parents and older brother encouraged Sarah Gadon to seek an acting career. She made her debut in 1998 at the age of ten on an episode of the Canadian television series Nikita . This was followed by other guest appearances in television series and, in 2000, a major role in the television comedy The Second Self , for which she was nominated for the Young Artist Award in 2001 as a member of the actor ensemble .

In the television drama Stormy Times (2001) Gadon starred on the side of Elizabeth Perkins ; in the comedy Soldier Kelly (2002) she starred alongside Hilary Duff . In the comedy Fast Food High (2003) she took on one of the leading roles alongside Alison Pill . From 2006 to 2007 she played the title role in the television series Ruby Gloom . She also played a supporting role in the television series Man, Derek! . In 2011 she worked with Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley in the film A Dangerous Method , which is about Carl Gustav Jung . She received a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2014 for her role as Helen Bell in the thriller Enemy .
