Lauren Christine German (born November 29, 1978 in Huntington Beach , California ) is an American actress . She became known for her film roles in Nur mit Dir - A Walk to Remember , Michael Bay's Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel 2 .
life and career
Lauren German attended Orange County High School of the Performing Arts in Southern California , where she trained as a dancer . She also took lessons at the celebrity The Actors Studio in Huntington Beach. She studied anthropology and political science at the University of Southern California . She dropped out of this course shortly before last year to pursue her career as an actress.
German had her first role in 1999 as Kimmy in the television series Undressed - Wer mit whom? A year later she played her first film role in The One Or None . In 2001 she - as Beth - had her first television appearance on the program Shotgun Love Dolls . In 2002 she starred in three films; as Belinda in Nur mit Dir - A Walk to Remember , as Darcy Peters in Dead Above and as Elena in A Misummer Night's Rave . In 2003 she starred in the television movie The Lone Ranger as Emily Landry , and also as the hitchhiker in Michael Bay's Texas Chainsaw Massacre . In 2004 she played as Gertle in Piggy Banks . In 2005 she starred as Melissa in the films Simple Lies , Standing Still as Jennifer and in the television series Sex, Love & Secrets as Rose . In 2006 she starred as Maddy in the television movie Surrender Dorothy , and in You Are Here as Cassie , followed by roles in It Is Fine. Everything is fine! , Hostel 2 , What We Do Is Secret as well as Love and Mary and Killer Moves . In 2011 she was hired as the new lead actress for the second season of the Hawaii Five-0 series . Halfway through the season, she left the series to take on a lead role on Chicago Fire .
In 2002 German was voted number 47 in the list of the Hot 100 of 2002 - published by Maxim .
