The Ionik GmbH , based in Paderborn was a manufacturer of storage media and electronic devices with the two own brands, CnMemory and i.onik . The company was liquidated in 2016 after suffering significant losses and resulting over-indebtedness.

In addition to the distributor business, the company positioned itself in 2004 with its own brand CnMemory as a provider of high-quality data storage media such as B. Flash memory , RAM , hard drives , USB sticks and much more. In 2011 the second own brand i.onik was created. With its portfolio, it focuses on lifestyle (including mobile devices and tablets). Our own claim is to produce high-quality and technically high-quality products with an extraordinary design. In summer 2013 Ionik was one of the top 5 tablet manufacturers in Germany. The company developed and programmed an Android operating system itself. The company also has distribution agreements with leading manufacturers, whose products are also marketed through retailers and chain stores.

The original company was founded in 1998 in Freiburg under the name Chips and More as a distributor for memory solutions. It filed for bankruptcy on July 29, 2013. In January 2014, the business operations with the brands and other assets were taken over by the global ICT company Global Distribution based in Dubai, the headquarters of the new Ionik GmbH has since been Paderborn, where the sister company ActionIT was located and still today (March 2018) still has a permanent establishment. Production and service were based in Freiburg.
