The co.don AG (proper spelling: co.don) is a German biopharmaceutical company based in Teltow . The company's core business is the development, manufacture and marketing of cell therapies for the treatment of articular cartilage defects .

history

The company was founded in 1993 to develop novel therapies and drugs that are based exclusively on the body's own cartilage cells .

On February 14, 2001, the company went public on the Neuer Markt of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange . The expansion into the USA was to be financed with the proceeds from the IPO.

The “cell culture process” developed by the company has been adopted by health insurance companies since 2007 and is used, for example, in the Asklepios clinics . In July 2017, the cartilage product Spherox received EU-wide approval.

By 2019 the company had invested around 14 million euros in Bio City Leipzig .
