Hans Bruno Bauerfeind (born July 29, 1940 in Zeulenroda ) is a German entrepreneur.

His grandfather Bruno Bauerfeind (1882–1944) founded a company specializing in the manufacture of medical compression stockings in Zeulenroda in 1929, which his father continued. In 1949, Hans B. Bauerfeind and his family emigrated from his Thuringian homeland to West Germany because of the anti-business policies in the Soviet occupation zone . His father Rudolf Bauerfeind (1909–1998) began to rebuild the business in Darmstadt-Eberstadt . In 1957 Hans B. Bauerfeind graduated from high school in Darmstadt . He then studied abroad and became a certified textile engineer.

In 1962 he joined his father's company. After taking over the Diedrich Grote Nachsteiger company in Kempen , a manufacturer of orthopedic bandages, Bauerfeind built up a global company for medical aids in 1972. After the reunification of Germany, he returned to Zeulenroda in 1991 and built a new production facility there. It became the seat of Bauerfeind AG , which was established in 2002 and is chaired by Hans B. Bauerfeind.

From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the city council of Zeulenroda-Triebes for the CDU . For his entrepreneurial and philanthropic efforts, he received several awards, such as the price social market economy of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on November 3, 2005 in St. Paul Church. In 2000 he received the Federal Cross of Merit . In November 2007, Hans B. Bauerfeind was awarded the honorary professorship at the Münster University of Applied Sciences . In 2009 he became an honorary citizen of Zeulenroda-Triebes.

Bauerfeind has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the biotechnology company Co.don AG since December 2017 .
