CoRoT-2 , formerly called CoRoT-Exo-2 , is a late main sequence star in the constellation Eagle, about 1000 light years away from Earth . It has an apparent magnitude of 12.6 mag. It is accompanied by an exoplanet named CoRoT-2b, which was discovered in 2007 .

Exoplanet

CoRoT-2 b , previously called CoRoT-Exo-2 b , is an exoplanet that orbits the central star with a period of 1.74  days at a distance of about 0.029 astronomical units . It has a mass of about 3.3 Jupiter and is a Hot Jupiter . He was using the French CoRoT - Space Telescope So, by the transit method discovered. It was the second exoplanet discovered by CoRoT.
