Coca-Cola Singapore Challenge 1999
The Coca-Cola Singapore Challenge 1999 was a three-nation tournament that was held from September 2 to 8, 1999 in Singapore in one-day cricket . In which the international cricket season in 1999 belonging tournament took teams from India , Zimbabwe and the West Indies part. In the final, the West Indies were able to prevail against India with four wickets.
prehistory
India previously played a three-nation tournament in Sri Lanka , while Zimbabwe and West Indies previously played in the 1999 Cricket World Cup . There the West Indies failed in the preliminary round and Zimbabwe qualified for the Super 6 round, where they could beat India in the preliminary round.
format
In a preliminary round, each team played each other once. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
