Aiwa Cup 1999

The Aiwa Cup 1999 was a three-nation tournament that was held from August 22nd to 31st, 1999 in Sri Lanka in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the 1999 international cricket season, teams from Australia and India took part alongside the host . In the final, India prevailed with 23 runs ( D / L ).

prehistory

All three teams previously played at the 1999 Cricket World Cup . Australia won this tournament, India qualified for the Super 6 round, while Sri Lanka failed in the preliminary round.

format

In a preliminary round, each team played twice against each other. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
