The Codex Angelicus ( Gregory-Aland no. L ap or 020 ; von Soden α 5) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament that is dated to the 9th century. The handwriting is incomplete.

The manuscript consists of the Acts of the Apostles and the Epistles of Paul on 189 sheets of parchment (27 × 21.5 cm), but the codex is missing some large parts of the Acts of the Apostles (1: 1–8, 10) and the Letter to the Hebrews 13: 10–25.

The manuscript contains prolegomena, lectionary markings, signatures, and στιχοι .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text and is assigned to Category V.

History of the Codex

The manuscript belonged to Cardinal Passionei and is kept in the Biblioteca Angelica, hence the name of the code.

The manuscript was examined by Montfaucon , Bianchini , Birch (James and 1 Corinthians), and Scholz (whole codex), and Ferdinand Fleck. The text was collated by Tregelles and Tischendorf .

The codex is kept in the Biblioteca Angelica (no. 39) in Rome .
