The Codex Koridethi or Codex Coridethianus ( Gregory-Aland no. Θ or 038 ; von Soden ε 050) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament that is dated to the 9th century.

The manuscript consists of the four Gospels on 249 sheets of parchment with gaps in Matthew 1 : 1-9; 1.21-4.4; and 4.17-5: 4. The format is 29 × 24 cm, the text is in two columns of 25 to 28 lines.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type in the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John, but the Caesarean type in Mark. This manuscript is the main representative of the Caesarea text. The text of the Codex is assigned to Category II .

The pericope adulterae (John 7: 53–8, 11) are missing .

history

It is named after one of its former repositories, Koridethi, a place near Batumi on the Black Sea .

The codex is kept in the Institute for Manuscripts (Gr. 28) in Tbilisi .
